Italian crude steel production increased by 0.7pc in January to 1.89mn mt from 1.87mn mt in the same month of 2020, according to the Italian Steel Producers Association (Federacciai). Crude steel production also increased from 1.61mn mt in December 2020.
According to Federacciai data, Italy’s long steel output in January 2021 rose by 5.3pc to 933,000mt compared to 886,000mt in the same month last year and was up from 858,000mt in December 2020. The country’s flat steel production rose by 2.8pc to 932,000mt last month from 907,000mt in January 2020 and increased from 813,000mt in December 2020.
