Japan’s seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased by 6.5pc to 99.6 in June 2021 compared to the previous month and 23pc compared to the original index in the previous year to 101.7, according to the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (Meti).
The country’s shipments index rose by 4.8pc to 96.7 in June against the preceding month and inclined by 19.2pc to 98.8 from the year-ago month. Inventories index rose by 2.1pc in June compared to the preceding month but declined by 5pc to 96.4 against the year-ago month.
The seasonally adjusted production capacity index rose by 0.1pc in June against May but declined by 1pc against June 20202, Meti noted. The operating ratio index grew by 6.2pc to 98.2 in June compared to May and jumped by 30.3pc against the same month last year. Japan’s inventories ratio index declined by 0.3pc to 108.5 in June on a monthly basis and fell by 21.5pc to 107.8 against the year-ago period.
