Japan’s industrial production in August rose by 1.7pc from July and 13.3pc from August 2019 as the country gradually inches towards recovery from COVID-19 pandemic, according to data released by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (Meti).
The industries that contributed to the increase in production were automotive, electronic parts as well as iron, steel and non-ferrous metals.
The shipments in the country in August increased by 2.1pc from the preceding month, while dropped by 13.8pc from the prior-year month.
The output is likely to rise by 5.7pc for September and 2.9pc in October, Meti said.
