JFE Steel Corporation has developed its new JNRF silicon gradient steel sheet using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology called to be used in high speed motors.
Electrical steel sheets are used as an iron core of motors and transformers. In using this new technology, the Japanese steel maker will be able to increase a motor’s torque and improve its efficiency and thus save energy. Using CVD, JFE has also patented two new products, JNEX Core, with 6.5pc silicon and JNHF Core, with gradient of silicon on its surface, to enhance the quality of steel used.
The company plans to expand the application of this silicon gradient steel sheets to be used in drive motors of electric vehicles, drone motors and similar processes, it stated.
