Jindal Steel & Power domestic steel production for fiscal year 2020 (April-March) was 6.30mn mt, up by 13pc from the prior year. The company produced a total of 8.17mn mt of steel in FY2019-20, up by 12pc from the previous fiscal. Domestic production was up by 13pc at 6.30mn mt while Oman Steel produced 1.87mn mt, up by 9pc from the prior year.

In FY2020, sales grew by 12pc in the domestic market and stood at 6.94mn mt and Oman sales grew by 4pc compares to the prior fiscal. Consolidated sales was up by 10pc at 7.92mn mt from the prior year.

JSPL operates India’s only private sector Rail mill, which has also received approval from RDSO recently to supply extremely sophisticated Head Hardened Rail (1080HH Grade). The rail mill clocked a record production of 570,000mt during FY20. Plate Mill at Raigarh achieved its highest production at 947,000mt in the fiscal by surpassing the previous best of 840,000mt during FY18-19.
The company said that the Angul plant with an annual capacity of 3mn mt in Raigarh was a plan now in action. The plant comprises India’s largest Blast furnace at and continues to produce more than 10,000 mt a day of hot metal. The EAF in Oman has produced 202,110mt of steel in a month, which was a record for the plant of its kind, according to the company statements.
