Tangshan’s Jinma Iron and Steel Group is relocated to Chifeng city in the Inner Mongolia province, under China’s steel capacity replacement plan, states China Metallurgical News.
The new facility will include a high-quality steel base plant with an annual production capacity of 3mn mt. Construction of the plant is expected to commence in 2020 and complete in 36 months.
The company is known for producing billets, steel strips, cold-rolled strips, pickled galvanized strip and galvanized rectangular tube.
The Tangshan city government recently launched a plan to optimize and integrate of 13 steel plants, involving 51.35mn mt of steel production capacity. Before the end of June, steel plants like Tangshan Steel, Tangyin, Tianzhu, Huaxi, Rongcheng and Hebei Yinshui pellet, and Dongsheng Sinter were shifted to coastal areas, with Xhinbaotai and Jianlong Iron and Steel moved outside the city.
