Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) produced 660,000mt crude steel in August, up by 6pc from the prior year, according to a company release.
In August, sales increased to 710,000mt, up by 6pc from July and 4pc from a year ago. Share of exports was 42pc of total sales volume in August, as exports continue to boost JSPL’s sales.
Despite subdued construction activities due to the ongoing monsoon, JSPL maintained its sales and production numbers in August.
The primary steelmaker plans to produce nearly 8.25mn mt of crude steel in FY2022.
VR Sharma JSPL Managing Director stated that the company will achieve sales and production targets and domestic demand could lift once the monsoon season is over.
Market participants believe that the government’s continued push for infrastructure projects will help the steel industry.
