Jindal Steel & Power Limited’s (JSPL) steel output in July grew by 13pc to 603,000mt from 533,000mt in the prior year month while steel sales grew by 29pc to 637,000mt from 493,000mt in July 2019 backed by gradual recovery in the economy along with return of workforce to jobs. Of the total sales, exports accounted for 39pc with 250,000mt. 

 

On consolidated basis, company’s sales rose by 25pc to 762,000mt in July, as against 611,000mt in the prior year period. Steel production registered a growth of 13pc to 740,000mt from 656,000mt in the prior year period.

 

In July, the company’s Oman arm registered a growth of 11pc in steel production to 137,000mt, compared to 123,000mt produced in the prior year period. Company’s sales grew by 6pc to 125,000mt from 118,000mt in July 2019.

 

Meanwhile, JSPL received its first ever domestic order of Head Hardened Rails of 3000mt from Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL), Kolkata Metro and Pune Metro project along with an order to supply 1,960mt of Head Hardened Rails to Konkan Railway.
