JSW Steel produced 1.24mn mt of crude steel in May, down by 14pc from 1.45mn mt in May 2019. The company’s output rose by 122pc from the prior month on the back of ramped up capacity utilisation, said the latest company release. Capacity utilisation rates in May was 83pc, up from 38pc in April.

 

In May, flat-rolled products output dropped to 0.90mn mt, down by 11pc from the prior year May, while the long-rolled products output plunged by 44pc to 0.22mn mt. Compared to April, flat and long products output rose by 163pc and 124pc, respectively.

 

The company targets to ramp up production capacity gradually in the coming months.
