JSW Projects (JPL) under the aegis of JSW Group has received clearance from Competition Commission of India for the acquisition of majority shareholding in BMM Ispat.
JPL is a manufacturer of direct reduce iron or sponge iron, coke dry quenching and captive power generation, used in the production of steel and steel products by JSW Steel.
BMM Ispat in Karnataka was a debt-ridden steelmaker which manufactured iron ore pellets, sponge iron, TMT bars and semis.
