Kazakhstan’s crude steel production in 2020 stood at 4mn mt, down by 3.1pc from 4.13mn mt produced in 2019, according to media reports citing data from the Bureau of Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

In December 2020, however, the country’s crude steel output grew by 23pc to 422,887mt from the prior-year period, and by 20pc as from November.

 

Flat products output

Kazakhstan’s flat product output in was 2.56mn mt, an increase of 26.1pc from the preceding year. In December, it grew by 60.5pc to 282,598mt from Dec 2019 and by 40.5pc from the preceding month.

 

Pipes and hollow seamless products output

In 2020, the country’s total production of pipes of various diameters and hollow seamless profiles of steel stood at 276,254mt, declining by 13.1pc from 2019.

 

The country’s output for the same in December fell by 4.1pc to 29,747mt as compared to Dec 2019 and by 33.8pc from the month before.
