Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

The Paducah area community plans to discuss reclaiming 9,700t (8,799.69mt) of nickel ingots at a former gas diffuser plant, with the US Department of Energy (DOE).

Paducah Area Community Reuse Organization (Pacro) noted on Thursday that it wants to leverage rising prices of the metal to revive the locality with an appropriate infusion of cash.

Eddie Jones, chairman Pacro, reiterated that the ingots can also potentially create jobs if used in battery production, or similar industrial consumption. The DOE de-commissioned the Paducah site in 2013.
