Polish miner and producer KGHM Polska Miedź’s total payable copper production in December 2020 stood at 64,500mt, up by 8.77pc from 59,300mt produced in the same month in 2019, the company said in its monthly report.
The company said that copper production in December rose due to more availability of the main production line in KGHM Polska Miedź SA and the processing of a higher volume of ore with more copper content and recovery at Sierra Gorda open-pit copper and molybdenum mine in Chile.

KGHM group’s total copper sales in December 2020 grew by 22.46pc to 75,800mt as compared to 61,900mt in the same month year prior due to increased sales at KGHM Polska Miedź SA and higher copper sales at KGHM INTERNATIONAL LTD and the Sierra Gorda mine.
2020 total output and sales
The company’s cumulative copper output in 2020 grew by 1.08pc to 709,200mt as compared to 701,600mt produced in the preceding year. The company said that its copper production level did not substantially differ from the budget targets for 2020.
Total copper sales in the 12-month period stood at 715,300mt, up by 3.38pc from 691,900mt in 2019.
