Poland-based KGHM Polska Miedź group’s copper production in October stood at 61,100mt, up by 9pc from the prior year due to higher availability of the main production line at KGHM Polska Miedź SA and processing of higher-grade ore by Sierra Gorda, the company said in a statement.

The company’s copper sales in October increased by 13pc to 57,100mt as compared to the preceding year.

In the Jan-Oct period, however, the company’s copper output stood at 582,100mt, down by 0.6pc from the prior-year period, while sales grew by 1.5pc to 572,900mt from the same period in the preceding year.

The company said that copper output and sales in the Jan-Oct period have been lower than planned due to the limited supply of scrap in the H1 FY20. KGHM has 38mn mt of copper ore resources spread across Europe, North America, and South America.
