South Korea’s new vehicle registrations rose by 22.5pc to 27,297 units in March compared to 20,304 in the same year-ago month.
New vehicle registrations climbed by 31.5pc to 71,908 units in Q1 2021 against 54,669 in the same year-ago quarter, according to Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA).
March domestic vehicle production was 304,300 units with 186,801or 61.4pc tagged for export and 115,538 units for domestic registration. South Korea imported 27,297 vehicles in March for a 19.1pc market share.
Domestic car production was 829,592 in Q1 2021 with 524,490 units tagged for export and 296,351 units registered for domestic inventories. South Korea imported 71,908 vehicles in Q1 2021 for a 19.5pc market share.
