LATAM Airlines Group has added 28 news Airbus A320neo narrow-body aircraft to its fleet, adding to the prior 42 jets ordered. This takes the company’s order total to 70 units. 

 

According to media reports, the company decided in order to modernize its line-up completely and reduce carbon emissions by 50pc and improve fuel efficiency by 20pc. LATAM continues to move away from its Chapter 11 status with the arrival of new aircraft and additional business. The airline will now consolidate the longest flights across Latin America and the Caribbeans and have also struck a deal with Delta Airlines for connections. 

 

In May, LATAM also ordered 21 Boeing 767-300 Converted Freighters as part of its cargo business expansion. The first of these is expected to begin operations in December 2021.
