Liberty Steel has restarted the electric arc furnace at the Huta Częstochowa plant a week after starting the plant’s rolling mill in a bid to ramp up and normalize production at the Polish steelmaking facility.
The EAF was idled in October 2020 and the company completed the melt process for steel to restart the EAF at a slower than usual pace to maintain the safety processes during the EAF’s restart, Liberty indicated in a statement on Jan 18.
Liberty restarted the plant’s rolling mill last week using steel delivered from Liberty Ostrava in the Czech Republic.
