Liberty Steel has appointed Renaud Moretti as chief executive officer (CEO) Liberty Downstream Synergies and Colin McGibbon as CEO of Liberty France. 

 

Moretti will join Liberty Steel in April and overlook the company’s downstream mills in Europe such as the Magona plant in Italy and the three Liège-Dudelange plants in Belgium and Luxembourg. Moretti was previously the CEO of NLMK Europe Strip, which included NLMK La Louviere and NLMK Strasbourg. He also held senior titles at Tata Steel’s Myriad site while it was owned by Corus.

 

McGibbon joined the company on Feb 1 and is now responsible for Liberty’s Greensteel business in France along with heading Liberty Ascoval and Rail Hayange. He was previously associated with the company’s Dunkerque aluminum smelter and was the plant director for the Hayange plant. Most recently, he served as the CEO for Societe Le Nickel (SLN), Eramet’s subsidiary in New Caledonia.
