Guanxi Liugang Zhongjin Stainless Steel plans suspension of production from Sep 18-27 for maintenance works, according to local media. The 10-day suspension of production will reduce the company’s hot-rolled narrow strip CICC 201 output by 23,000mn mt.
Liugang Zhongjin Stainless Steel, a subsidiary of Liuzhou Iron and Steel Group, is located in Yutan Longtan Industrial Park in Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. The company is surrounded by an industry chain which engages from nickel ore imports to end products. Liugang Zhongjin employs green manufacturing projects such as mixed iron furnace integrated masonry technology and recycling process technology. The plant utilizes low-grade nickel ore imports to produce nickel alloys which are further used to produce stainless steel coils and deep-processed products.
Earlier in March, it started construction of a cold-rolled steel project in Yulin city, Guanxi province with an investment of CNY1.3bn. The plant will manufacture high-end stainless steel and copper for deep processing industrial base. Post completion, Liugang Zhongjin’s production capacity will be 350,000mt of stainless steel coils and 480,000mt of stainless steel cold-rolled coils. The plant will provide high-quality raw materials for downstream stainless steel industry.
