American electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Lucid Motors, will soon begin production at its advanced manufacturing plant (Lucid AMP-1) in Casa Grande, Arizona.
The company plans to start making its Air sedan model, which includes the Dream, Touring, and Gran Touring editions. Initially, the plant will produce 300,000 vehicles per year. In the final developmental phase, expected in 2021, the facility will also produce its first SUV model, currently called Project Gravity, and increase capacity to 400,000 units.
The construction of AMP-1 was completed within a year of breaking ground at the site. While the manufacturer has not given an exact timeline for production, it said that operations at the site are in the commissioning phase.
