Australian miner Macarthur Minerals has appointed Andrew Bruton as its new chief executive officer. 

 

Bruton has more than 20 years of experience in mining, energy and infrastructure. He previously worked with Andean Resources, a gold miner and Lithium Resources. Bruton joined Macarthur as general manager and company secretary in September 2019. He will guide the company’s flagship Lake Giles iron ore project in Western Australia towards production. 

 

The firm’s current chief executive officer, Joe Phillips, will serve as the company’s managing director for the North American and Australian region, focusing on their capital markets and project funding. Mima Wirakara will replace him as the company’s new secretary.
