China’s Maanshan Iron and Steel (Magang Steel) has initiated reconstruction work of No. 1 blast furnace, according to Chinese Metal Society. Post renovation, the functions of the blast furnace will improve and the upgrades will reduce the loss of molten iron output by 90mt and coke consumption by 33.25mt per day. This renovation will increase the furnace’s economic efficiency by CNY23mn, annually.
Maanshan Iron and Steel is based in China’s Anhui province. The company has an annual steel production capacity of 20mn mt. Maanshan produces cold and hot-rolled sheets, colour-coated sheets, galvanised sheets, wire rod, H-beam and other products.
