Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into the imports of flat-rolled products of non-alloy steel-plated or coated with aluminium and zinc from China, Korea and Vietnam. The probe was launched after steelmaker NS Bluescope Malaysia filed a petition.
The steelmaker has alleged that exporters from China, Korea and Vietnam are selling subjected merchandise at a lower price in Malaysia, than in their home countries. This dumping has caused injury to the Malaysian industry which has to deal with price undercutting; price depression; price suppression; negative cash flow and reduction in return on investment.
