Malaysia has imposed definitive anti-dumping (AD) duties on certain flat rolled steel from China, South Korea and Vietnam for five years, said Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) in a statement on December 23.
The products included flat rolled product of non-alloy steel plated or coated with aluminium and zinc. According to the release, Miti initiated an anti-dumping probe concerning imports on March 17, 2020 and concluded that the steel products are imported into the country at a lower price than the selling price in the alleged countries causing material injury to the Malaysian domestic market.
The duties would range between 2.18-18.88pc for the products from China, 9.98-34.94pc for the products from South Korea and for the products imported from Vietnam would be imposed with a duty ranging between 3.06-37.14pc.
The duties will become effective from December 12 until December 2025.
