India’s leading carmaker Maruti Suzuki produced a total of 155,127 units in December, marking a growth of 34pc from the year prior. December is the fifth successive month of production growth from the prior year. 

 

Mini and compact sub-segment production grew by 28pc to 112,875 units in December from the previous year. Total passenger cars production reported at 114,250 units in December, up by 28pc from a year ago. Light commercial vehicle production in December rose by 67pc from the prior year to 1,652 units. 

 

In December, Maruti’s production lowered by 23pc from the previous month. Maruti aims to produce 160,000 units in January, according to media reports. The company posted a sales growth of 20pc after selling 160,226 units in December from the prior year.
