Maruti Suzuki’s production went up by 7.88pc to 115,949 units in December 2019, for the second successive month. The company produced 107,478 units in December 2018.
The company produced 62,448 units in its compact car segment, up from 44,329 units in the prior year. Utility vehicles’ production stood at 19,825 units, up from 16,436 units in the prior year. The production of vehicles in the mini segment dropped by 9.54pc to 25,613 units, from 28,314 units in the prior year.
In November 2018, the company increased its production by 4.33pc, after reducing its output for nine consecutive months, amid a weaker demand. The annual production stood at 1,41,834 units in November 2019, from 1,35,946 units in November 2018.
Production of light commercial vehicles increased to 987 units in December, up from 545 units produced in the prior year.
