Indian auto manufacturer Maruti Suzuki produced 150,221 units in November, up 6pc from the year prior. Production has dipped 18pc from the previous month.

Passenger cars produced by the company, including mini, compact and mid-size cars, was reported at 110,646 units, up 6pc from the prior-year November.

Production in November may have dipped on the fewer number of production days owing to festive season. Supply chain is still hurt, and auto parts’ availability is an issue to the industry for most auto makers.

Sales in November was down 2.4pc for the domestic market. Around 135,775 units were sold by the car major compared to the previous year. Maruti’s share in the India market is around 50pc and a drop in sales indicated a marginal drop in auto sector demand. However, other auto companies reported healthier sales numbers in November. Maruti’s sales in October had hit an all-time high of 163,656 units.
