Iran is set to commence production at Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc Complex at Yazd Province. The first phase of the project will be completed by the last week of March 2022.
Mehdiabad Lead and Zinc Complex would become the largest lead and zinc processing plant in the Middle East, says the ministry. The director of Mehdiabad confirmed significant progress achieved in mining, plant, and infrastructure despite all the sanctions. All required equipment was made available.
The annual production capacity of the plant, after commissioning all phases, would be 800,000mt of zinc concentrate and 80,000mt of lead-silver concentrate.
