Metalloinvest has appointed Nazim Efendiev as its new chief executive officer (CEO) after the sudden demise of its former CEO Andre Varichev on April 27. 

 

Efendiev, a 20-year veteran at Metalloinvest will take up the new position along with his existing post of first deputy CEO, Sales Director, the company announced recently.

 

A 20-year veteran at Metalloinvest, Efendiev previously worked with NOSTA and Ural steel – both subsidiary companies of Metalloinvest as Sales Director before being promoted to general director in 2004. He moved to Metalloinvest in 2006 and went on to become the first deputy CEO, sales director of the company. 

 

Metalloinvest is a Russian iron ore producer and supplier. It also makes steel and HBI products with close to 14.2bn mt of probable reserves of iron ore in its mines.
