Ukraine-based Metinvest’s net profit in 2019 narrowed by 71pc to $341mn from $1.18bn in 2018. The company’s profit margin declined by 7pc. The company reported a revenue of $10,757mn in 2019, a decrease of 9pc to from $11,880 in the prior year and income before taxes decreased by 52pc to $1,213mn.
Metinvest has produced 7.57mn mt of crude steel in 2019, up by 3pc or 255mt from 7.32mn mt produced in 2018. Iron ore concentrate production was 29,028mn mt in 2019, up by 6pc or 1,675mt from 27,353mt a year ago.
Metinvest ranks among the biggest producers of iron ore raw materials and steel in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.
