Metro Mining’s bauxite shipment dropped by 12.76pc in Q3 (July-Sept) from the prior-year period. The Australian company’s mined bauxite also dropped by 25.35pc in the quarter ending September from the prior-year period, according to their statement. 

Its bauxite output was 1.06mn wmt, down from 1.42mn wmt in the prior-year period. Metro Mining’s bauxite production till Sep 2020 was 2.481mn wmt.

Its total shipments were 1.23mn wmt in September quarter, down from 1.41mn wmt in the prior-year period. In the Jan-Sept period, 2.481mn wmt of shipments were reported. 

Metro announced that it is focusing on Stage 2 expansion aimed at long term development of Bauxite Hills which have been impacted by uncertainty over the outlook for global growth due to COVID-19 pandemic. It is expected to be complete by 2022.
