Mexico’s mining production declined by 1.6pc in November 2019 from the same month a year earlier, on lower demand for seven of 11 main metals.

 

Zinc production decreased by 3.4pc to 36,366mt in November, while lead output fell by 3.8pc to 12,830mt, according to a statement from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).

 

Flourite production dropped by 11.4pc to 84,514mt, coke output decreased by 19.2pc to 74,005mt, and coal thoroughput decreased by 9pc to 583,330mt during the month.

 

Copper production, however, rose by 1.8pc to 40,592mt in November 2019, as did iron pellets and cast outputs, which rose by 17pc to 540,884mt and 1.1pc 472,815, respectively.

 

Silver production declined by 5.2pc to 300,320 kg, while gold output decreased by 1.1p 6,595 kg, Inegi data indicated.
