Mexico has extended its countervailing duties (CVD) on the imports of Chinese cold-rolled steel, regardless of where the product is imported from, for a period of five years according to the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).
The extension now includes exporters from other countries who may be shipping cold-rolled steel manufactured in China from a different destination to Mexico.
The investigation was conducted following a petition filed by Ternium and Altos Hornos de México in May last year when the CVD imposed on China in 2016 was about to expire, DOF noted.
The investigation extends the imposed quotas of 65.99pc on Baoshan Iron & Steel, 82.08pc on Tangshan Iron and Steel, and 103.41pc on Beijing Shougang Cold Rolling and Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel.
