Mexican auto production increased by 1.4pc to 312,184 units in November, from 307,756 vehicles produced in November 2019, the National Institute of Statistical and Geographic Information (Inegi) said in a statement on Friday, December 4.
Car exports rose by 4.6pc to 287,703 units in November this year, from 274,845 vehicles shipped the same month in 2019. Domestic car sales, on the other hand, fell by 23.4pc to 95,485 units in November this year, from 124,792 cars sold the same month the prior year.
Exports
In January-November 2020, shipments to the US fell 22.4pc to 1.9mn cars, from 2.4mn cars in the same period last year while exports to Canada also declined by 28.9pc to 146,603 units over 206,049 in the same period.
Shipments to Colombia and Brazil were short by 30.2pc and 65.2pc on an annual basis, tallying at 28,833 units and 17,246 units in the first eleven months this year, respectively. Exports to Chile dipped 46.2pc to 11,981 vehicles in the same timeframe.
As for Europe, exports fell 13.1pc to 174,075 vehicles in January-November over the prior year period while Asian shipments were down by 10.3pc to 43,453 in this period.
