Mexico’s construction output fell by 24.2pc in October on an annual basis, according to the the National Statistics Agency (Inegi).

In October, construction contracts for industry personnel decreased by 19.7pc, and works hours fell by 19.6pc, Inegi reported.
Despite months of decline in the construction industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mexico’s steel production rose by 1.1pc to 1.47mn mt in October from 1.45mn in the same month of 2019, with higher demand from the automotive industry.
