Light vehicles production in Mexico increased by 38.7pc from January to May 2021, compared to the same period in 2020.
Total light vehicle production in Mexico during the first five months of 2021 increased 38.7pc, reaching 1.33 million, compared to 960,151 manufactured from January to May 2020, reported by the National Institute of Geography, Statistics, and Informatics (INEGI).
Production increased 956pc to 214,442 units in May 2021, compared to 22,862 manufactured in the same month of last year.
In the first five months of this year, sales increased by 14.62pc, reaching 428,312 units, compared to the 373,682 that were sold from January to May last year. The variation was 54,620 vehicles.
Similarly, according to the Administrative Registry of the Automotive Industry of Light Vehicles issued by the INEGI, sales increased 103.8pc to 83,662 units in May of this year, compared to 42,034 that were sold in 2020.
