Shandong Minyuan Iron and Steel, Jinan city, China is nearing the completion of its ultra-low emission transformation and expansion project. Around 85pc of the work which included reconstruction of 15 ultra-low emission steel plants is complete. The project is likely to be completed by October, according to government agency China Metallurgical News.
The company has an annual production capacity of 1.2mn mt of pig iron, 1.2mn mt of steel, 2.2mn mt of sintered ore and 1.9mn mt of billets. With this reconstruction, the company also plans to add two blast furnaces, two converters and other machinery.
