Japan’s Mitsui Mining plans to increase its stake in its Collahuasi copper mine in Chile by 0.97pc, bringing its total interest to 12pc.
The new agreement made on Wednesday will allow Mitsui to take over 8.1pc equity from Japan Collahusi Resources (JCR). MMS plans to focus its resources on engineered materials and developing new products. It will continue to hold its zinc mines in Peru, according to a statement on Mar 24.
