Russia’s MMK achieved 72pc of its delivery target in June after implementing the “just in time” logistics concept to improve its production process and scheduling times.

The company said in a press release on Friday that the firm continues to achieve a 70pc target of delivering products to its customers within three days.

Under the new logistics process, MMK has implemented an automated operational scheduling system that helps in calculating the shipment date at the time of accepting an order from a customer. The company developed this process in partnership with ITC Ausferr.

Moreover, the new system also helps customers to track their orders and has significantly reduced the delivery window, MMK said. It added that the new system has also aided the steelmaker in saving on warehouse maintenance and variable costs.

MMK noted it is still working on improving its “just in time” processes and expects to achieve the best delivery times, increasing its client focus levels.
