Russian steelmaker MMK announced that its hot rolling mill 2500 located at sheet rolling shop No4 has produced 1.07mn mt of hot rolled products in the first quarter of the year.
Mill 2500 is considered one of the most modern facilities in the world after being largely renovated last year with an annual production capacity of 5.2mn mt of rolled metal. The company automated the mill 2500 and expanded the size and brand range of the products to produce new pipe grades, according to a statement on Monday.
Last year the company produced about 11.6mn mt of crude steel and 10.8mn mt of commercial steel products and expects its Q2 2021 sales to increase as the demand for steel increases in Russia.
