Russian steelmaker MMK’s sinter shop announced that it recently completed producing 750mn mt of sinter since the beginning of production in 1937.
In 2016, the firm had announced production of 700mn mt of sinter, and in less than five years; the company has achieved another 50mn mt in output, it said in an Aug 19 statement. This milestone was achieved mainly because of modifications at plant No 5 that ramped up annual capacity to 5.5mn mt.
MMK’s sinter facility is a part of the mining and processing division and includes three plants with a combined capacity of 11.1mn mt per year.
