World Trade Organisation (WTO) members formally adopted the panel and appellate body report in a case by Turkey, regarding antidumping duty imposed on their hot-rolled steel products exported to Morocco. The panel report was adopted in a meeting held on Jan 8. 

 

Moroccan authorities violated provisions of the apex body’s anti-dumping agreement, as found by the WTO members on Oct 31,2018. 

Morocco notified its decision to appeal panel findings on Nov 20, 2018. The country however, withdrew the appeal on Dec 4, 2019. 

 

The trade body later gave their final ruling stating Moroccan authorities violated parts of WTO’s antidumping agreement in tariff impositions on HRCs imports from Turkey.

 

 Morocco will now have 30 days to inform the its intentions in regards to the implementation of the ruling, said the WTO report.
