Iran’s largest steel producer Mobarakeh Steel Company (MSC) produced 7.58mn mt of steel in the first five months (March-August) of the Iranian fiscal year, according to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (Imidro) data reported by the media.

 

In March-August, finished product output decreased by 4pc to  3.49mn mt from the same period year prior, while semi-finished product output rose by 5pc to 4.09mn mt from the prior-year period.

 

The company’s total steel output stood at 1.4mn mt in August.

 

In August, the company produced 689,794mt of finished steel products, down by 5pc from last year, while semi-finished steel product output dropped by 10pc to 707,367mt from the same month year prior.

 

MSC contributed to the majority of Iran’s total steel output which stood at 2.96mn mt in August.
