National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco) has engaged Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (Bhel) for its 5th stream Alumina Refinery Expansion Project at Damanjodi, Odisha. The Rs4.5bn($61.43mn) contract includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 1×300 TPH Coal Fired Boiler, 18.5 MW Steam Turbine Generator and associated auxiliaries, including FGD and SCR.
Bhel is a supplier for both their Smelter plant (10×120 MW) at Angul and Alumina Refinery plant (5×18.5 MW) at Damanjodi. Nalco is coming up a 5th stream expansion project at alumina refinery at its existing complex at Damanjodi. The Rs55.40bn($756.21mn) project is expected to be completed by April 2021, the company had announced.
Bhel, a manufacturer of power generation equipment, provides solutions to petrochemicals, refineries, fertilizers, cement, steel, chemicals, sugar, paper industries to fulfil steam and power requirements. The company claims to have an installed base of over 190,000 MW of power plant equipment globally.
