Primary Indian aluminium producer, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), reported a 79.2pc increase in revenue in Q1 as compared to the prior-year period. 

 

The producer reported a quarterly revenue of Rs24.25bn($326.67bn) from Rs13.80bn ($186.02mn) in Q1, 2020. The company has attributed the increase in revenue to a healthy demand, higher volumes, better realization, and effective capacity utilization of its operation units. 

 

Nalco’s bauxite, alumina, and aluminium production stood at 1.76mn mt, 521,000mt and 114,000mt, respectively, in the April-June quarter, up from 1.71mt, 456,000mt and 98,000mt, respectively, in Q1 2020.

 

Nalco’s net profit jumped to Rs.3.48bn ($46.85mn) from Rs.166.3mn($2.24mn) in the corresponding period of previous year.
