China-based Guangdong Nangfang Donghai Iron and Steel plans to construct a steel plant with an annual production capacity of 7.6mn mt, according to Chinese media. The project would entail an investment of CNY12bn ($1.7bn) and would be constructed in two phases.
The first phase is scheduled to be completed and invested in by June 2021 with a production capacity of 4mn mt and second phase with annual production capacity of 3.6mn mt.
The main equipment of the first phase includes 3,150mt imported electric furnaces and sets of LF and RH refining furnaces, 1,780 hot-rolled strip steel, white ash kiln and 50,000mm³/h oxygen making unit.
