Mexican automotive components specialist Nemak’s sales volumes increased 31.5pc to 19.6 million units in H1 2021 compared to 14.9 million during the same period in 2020.

 

Nemak also achieved a 103.6pc increase in its production in the second quarter of this year, to nine million from 4.4 million auto parts sold, which represents a sales volume similar to what they had before the pandemic.

 

As a result of this recovery and despite the global shortage of chips, the company adjusted its annual results guide for 2021, increasing its estimated sales volume by 3.7pc, to 39.5 million pieces from 28.8 million.

 

The company also reported an increase in its half-year earnings, of 52.3pc compared to H1 2020, to $1.9bn from $1.3bn. Meanwhile, in Q2 2021, its profits were 137pc higher than in the same period last year, up to $955mn from $403mn.

 

Nemak specializes in the development and manufacturing of aluminum components for powertrain, e-mobility, and body structure applications for the global automotive industry.
