Iran-based National Iranian Copper Industries Company’s (NICICO) copper concentrate production in the first seven months (Mar 20-Oct 21, 2020) of the Iranian calendar increased by 5pc to 706,789mt from the prior-year period, setting the record for highest output in seven months, according to media reports.

 

The company’s copper concentrate output in the seventh month (Sep 23-Oct 21, 2020) stood at 107,191mt, up by 9pc from the same month year prior.

 

In the period, the company’s copper cathode output grew by 7pc to 162,731mt, copper anode production in the same period stood at 205,109mt, up by 10pc from the prior-year period.

 

The company aims to increase copper concentrate output to 2.6mn mt as per its 2030-31 Development Plan. It also expects to exceed copper cathode capacity to over 550,000mt by 2031.

 

The company is also focusing on the development of Phase 3 of its Sungun copper concentrate plant, Phase 2 of Miduk Complex, and Phase 3 of Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex. It is set to finalize 30 projects by March 2021.
