Japanese carmaker Nissan’s global automotive production and sales increased in January on an annual basis.

 

Nissan’s, worldwide output increased by 2.4pc to 371,532 units in January from a year ago. However, the carmaker’s Japanese domestic production declined by 14.7pc during the month under review due to the impact of the semi-conductor shortage. 

 

The company’s sales tallied at 361,182 units, down by 1.9pc from January 2020. However, sales increased by 24pc in China in January compared to the same month last year.
