Russia’s NLMK (Novolipetsk Metallurgical Combine) suspended the Lipetsk converter shop No 2 for a week to perform maintenance on the oxygen-providing equipment at the facility. The oxygen shop segment was affected by a fire in one part of the plant. The estimated loss in crude steel production was not provided to the media.
The converter shop is down for the next week and is anticipated to resume around Aug 21 or Aug 23, according to their press release. NLMK’s Lipetsk converter’s rolling production is operating properly and will continue through the week.
